Parties sign six year outsourcing contract
Hilversum/Leiden, December 2009 ― After a European tender, the Dutch municipality of Leiden selected Inter Access as its outsourcing supplier for the next six years. As a result of their mutual contract, Inter Access will provide the complete availability of the municipal ICT back office and network. In doing so, the ICT service provider applies virtualization, which offers an optimal capacity use of the systems. By outsourcing its ICT back office and network, the municipality of Leiden secures a stable and cost efficient IT environment. It enables the municipal ICT department to fully focus on strategic projects.
The municipality of Leiden chose Inter Access after a European tender, in which seven ICT service providers participated. The independent management consultancy firm Quint Wellington Redwood, supervised the tender for Leiden.
“We were looking for a partner that combines stability with flexibility,” said Paul Dubber, Unit Leader ICT at the municipality of Leiden. “After a thorough selection process, Inter Access came out as the best match in terms of professionalism, openness, flexibility and price/performance ratio. This company has proven expertise in the field of outsourcing and virtualization.”
“The municipality of Leiden followed the European tender procedure and selected Inter Access as the best outsourcing partner. Both parties face an interesting challenge, and we are convinced that the agreements and goals are both realistic and feasible. The contract will offer both the municipality of Leiden and Inter Access the necessary mutual agility,” said Wijnand Kamerling, partner at Quint Wellington Redwood.
“One of the important tasks for Inter Access is managing the infrastructure,” said Michel de Meijer, CEO of Inter Access. “Our growth is strong in this field and we have a lot to offer to new and existing clients. As a flexible service provider, Inter Access is the alternative for established companies in this field. It is therefore that consultancy firms more and more include Inter Access in their selection processes. The fact that the municipality of Leiden chose our company, underlines our commitment to offer our clients distinctive managed services. We are glad to be chosen as the best partner in this profound selection process.”
The municipality of Leiden and Inter Access can both look back on a long term relationship. The former computer center of the municipality played an important role in the history of Inter Access. In 1980 Leiden was the second customer of Inter Access. During the years 2001-2009 the municipality of Leiden and Inter Access together worked on the implementation and management of a central ICT system for the entire municipality.
