Hilversum, Tilburg, 20 March 2009 – Inter Access’ WebNext Hybrid MidOffice has gone live at the municipality of Tilburg. This allows the municipality to substantially enhance the digital services for their residents and to improve the efficiency of internal processes.
Inter Access’ solution combines all the functionality of the WebNext mid-office with a SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) platform based on Oracle technology. To this end, the municipality of Tilburg has a standardisation platform and an innovation platform at their disposal. The standardisation platform enables the municipality to easily add new services and integrate them with standard functionality in the area of authentication, back office connections and service processes. The innovation platform allows for the development of new possibilities and services which are not possible (yet) with the standardisation platform. The municipality of Tilburg already used an application for generating forms for their electronic services. Inter Access integrated this existing software in the mid-office and thus secured the investments in this application.
Thanks to Inter Access' mid-office, the municipality of Tilburg now offers their residents a personalised digital counter at www.tilburg.nl: 'Mijn Loket' (My Counter). Residents can log on with their DigiD (digital identity) and consult various data. They can, for example, check the status of a request or objection. They can also complete various tasks, such as requesting certificates, reporting a change of address or filing an objection against a municipal tax assessment.
The existing counter in Tilburg already contained a service for intelligent, pre-filled digital forms. In addition, changes of address, appointments and requests for certificates and other requests made at the counter were already directly fed to the appropriate back office system for processing. The implementation of the mid-office provides a foundation to do this in a uniform way from now on.
“The implementation of Inter Access’ mid-office is an important step towards further expansion of the electronic services for our residents,” says Ferry van Oosterwijk, Manager Public Affairs at the municipality of Tilburg. “The personalised counter in particular allows us to offer tailored services. We continue to work on making more products and services available via the internet. This provides the municipality’s residents with more ease and speed, while it allows the municipality to complete the underlying processes more efficiently and effectively."
“We are delighted that yet another large municipality has chosen our WebNext MidOffice solution,” says Han Dieperink, Board Member at Inter Access. “Tilburg is the sixth large Dutch municipality to implement this mid-office. WebNext is now being used by a total of 32 Dutch municipalities. They benefit from more flexibility when developing electronic services. In addition, our approach results in a successful implementation with a short processing time, with Inter Access acting as the central point of contact for all aspects of the mid-office environment.”
