WebNext user community growing to 35 municipalities
Hilversum, 15 September 2009 – After a European tender, seven Frisian municipalities have selected Inter Access as provider of their midoffice. The municipalities of Bolsward, Gaasterlân-Sleat, Harlingen, Lemsterland, Littenseradiel, Nijefurd and Wûnseradiel have joined forces in IT through the ISZF, a regional ICT collaboration body in the southwest of Friesland.
The municipalities selected Inter Access’ WebNext Midoffice suite because of its quality and broad functionality. The fact that Inter Access is able to deliver a fully operational system before the end of 2009, also added to the decision. The choice of the ISZF means that by the end of 2009 35 Dutch municipalities will be using the Inter Access midoffice.
The new solution offers the municipalities much flexibility. With WebNext, they work with a common information architecture which is based on ‘build once, use many times’. Additionally, the suite is a proven product. Already, 26 municipalities use the solution. For the ISZF partners, this means they can easily add products, jointly or separately. They can also share adaptors, processes and forms with other municipalities. This results in a shorter lead time and fast delivery.
Inter Access’ WebNext Midoffice is based on the Oracle SOA Suite. The solution encompasses proven and seamlessly integrated components, including the ‘Zakenmagazijn’ and ‘Gegevensmagazijn’. There is full integration with the existing Corsa and SIM CMS environments of participating municipalities. There are already one hundred digital products available and 55 connectors to various back-office vendors.
By implementing the WebNext Midoffice suite, the ISZF partners are able to improve their service to citizens. This will lead to a score of at least 95 percent in column D (personalized service) of www.overheidsmonitor.nl., which measures the level of electronic services to citizens by municipalities.
“We are very pleased that the ISZF municipalities have selected our WebNext suite. This choice underlines the flexibility of the solution. In addition tot Equalit in the Western part of the province of Brabant and de NOFA municipalities in the northeast of Friesland, the ISZF is the third collaboration body to implement WebNext. These provinces profit from a proven system that can be quickly implemented and has a fast return”, said Jeroen Speekenbrink, director E-Government Solutions at Inter Access.
