Lekkerland's existing systems offered insufficient scope to deal flexibly with the rapid expansion and policy changes. Preventing data loss in the event of disasters and minimisation of failure in the business process headed the list of priorities at Lekkerland.

As the solution a Twin Data Center based on IBM technology was chosen. It started with the introduction of physically separate locations; starting point was the possibility to implement duplicate systems able to mirror all the data.
